Do you want to start your adventure with sport shooting and join one of the oldest shooting clubs in Poland? ZKS Warsaw is a place where you will learn safe and conscious handling of firearms, gain new skills, and open the path to obtaining a PZSS competitor license. Below we explain step by step how to join ZKS Warsaw.
Step 1: Start your introductory training period
The first stage of joining ZKS Warsaw is an introductory training period. This is a mandatory process during which you will learn the basics of sport shooting, safety rules, and the operation of different types of firearms. To complete the introductory training period, you must take part in 12 shooting sessions using different types of firearms:
- rimfire pistol (x4)
- centerfire pistol (x4)
- rimfire rifle (x1)
- centerfire rifle (x1)
- shotgun (x2)
The introductory training period can be completed in a minimum of 8 days. To begin the process, you should report to an instructor, the reception desk, or the office for registration. There you will receive a training logbook and you may immediately purchase your first shooting sessions.
The training is conducted exclusively by instructors who are employees of ZKS Warsaw. Each shooting session is confirmed and recorded in the training logbook by the instructor conducting the given session.
Step 2: Submit your membership application
After successfully completing the introductory training period, the candidate should submit a membership application at the ZKS Warsaw club office.
To do so, you are required to:
- provide a recent photograph,
- pay the entry fee of 450 PLN,
- pay the membership fee (its amount is proportional to the registration date). At a later stage, the membership fee may be reduced by 50% if you complete at least 12 competition starts.
After completing all formalities, you will receive a club membership card and officially become a member of ZKS Warsaw.
What do you gain as a member of ZKS Warsaw?
After joining the Club, you can:
- use club discounts,
- train sport shooting under the supervision of experienced instructors,
- take part in competitions organized by ZKS Warsaw.
Until you obtain a PZSS (Polish Shooting Sport Federation) sports license, your competition results will be classified as PK (out of classification). To obtain the license, you must first complete training for the shooting proficiency exam, pass the exam, and then apply to the PZSS for the issuance of the license. You may take the proficiency exam after one month from the date of joining the Club, in accordance with PZSS regulations. Two-day licensing courses, including both theoretical and practical training, are organized at ZKS Warsaw several times a year. After obtaining a PZSS sports license, you become a fully qualified competitor and may participate in shooting competitions of any level. The license is valid for one year. To maintain it, you must take part in competitions: 4 times in your primary discipline and 2 times in the remaining disciplines (e.g. 4 times pistol, 2 times rifle, and 2 times shotgun).
Develop your skills – training and individual coaching
If, after completing the introductory training period and your initial training sessions, you wish to further develop your shooting skills, ZKS Warsaw offers a wide range of specialized training courses. These courses not only help improve shooting technique but also better prepare you for sports competitions and support conscious planning of your further development in shooting sports.
The offer includes, among others:
- introductory training – first visit at the shooting range
- rifle and pistol training
- firearm cleaning and maintenance training
- black powder shooting training
- sight zeroing training
- training preparing for competition starts

For those who prefer a more individual approach, we also offer one-to-one training sessions with an instructor. This is an ideal form of training focused on working on specific technical elements, correcting mistakes, and achieving personal sporting goals – at a pace tailored to your needs.
The cost of an individual training session is 120 PLN.
